2011

Jascal Casas Rurales in Picos de Europa, the adventure begins

Jascal Casas Rurales opened in August 2011, at the very height of high season. It was baptism by fire! And travellers began to arrive from around the world. It still seems miraculous, being a needle in the haystack as it were. We are thrilled to welcome new guests every week. And honoured to see that so many return!
2009

A life under construction

Building in Paradise, “El Paraíso”. It was two years of concrete, cement mixers and bricks. Then suddenly we had just one week to go till the first guests arrived. A good friend came by to see how the project was going and said "This is a miracle." But not because it was an amazing achievement. It was because we had survived it!
1999

From Arenas de Cabrales to Berodia

By 1999 we moved to Berodia de Cabrales, Barrio La Torre -the "Lower Village" as our neighbours call it- and made our home here. A tiny corner of Asturias with a charm all its own.
1992

South to North

In the early 90`s we lived in Southern Spain.... At the end of 1992 we came to Asturias, Cabrales, Berodia! We fell in love with the area, the people, the landscape… and the cheese! And we knew that we had found a unique spot, here in the Picos de Europa.
WHY JASCAL?

The Difference

Truth said, it all still seems like a dream. Now, more than a decade later, we’re happy to see guests returning again and again. As happy as they are to be coming back!
